September 2019 Seminar
Our next seminar will take place on 19th September 2019 and will be on the topic of Gender Pay Gap Reporting. Mason Hayes & Curran are kindly hosting us at their office at South Bank House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4. Following feedback from members, we are going to trial a morning seminar. We will commence at 7-45am and will be finished by 9am.
We are delighted to have again secured three very impressive speakers who will provide distinct viewpoints and insights.
Ailbhe Dennehy, Senior Associate in A&L Goodbody’s Employment Practice group, is going to speak about the recently published Gender Pay Gap Information Bill 2019 and look at what it entails and what the future for Gender Pay Gap Reporting may be in this jurisdiction. Ailbhe advises both private and public sector, domestic and international clients in relation to a variety of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues. Ailbhe regularly contributes to employment law publications, and has prepared articles on a variety of changing aspects of employment law, including Gender Pay Gap Reporting.
Claire Darwin BL is going to speak about the UK position and in particular the experiences in the UK, and her own experiences, since legislative changes in 2017 introduced Gender Pay Gap Reporting. Claire is a barrister at Matrix Chambers in London and specialises in employment and discrimination law. She is ranked in all of the legal directories - Chambers UK Bar, the Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal as one of the leading barristers in the UK in her fields of specialism. She was appointed to the Attorney General’s A Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown in June 2017, a small panel of barristers appointed to advise and represent the UK government in complex civil and EU cases and was called to the Bar in this jurisdiction in 2018.
Ben Burton, Head of Corporate, Drury / Porter Novelli, is going to give a unique insight into the challenges faced by Employers who have to communicate Gender Pay Gaps and how those challenges are managed from a PR perspective. Ben is a former Political Correspondent and Producer now working in Public Relations for major global brands providing senior media counsel, strategic advice and planning, media training and issues/crisis support. He has experience in assisting employers in the UK in crafting and communicating their gender pay gap data.
I think this is going to be a very informative seminar on a very topical issue. Kindly rsvp to Vanessa Bergin at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
